Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know
about Sésara tahini.

What is tahini?

Tahini is a creamy paste made from ground sesame. A Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food used for thousands of years. Sésara tahini contains 100% organic sesame, no added oils, no sugar, no stabilisers.

Why does Sésara tahini not contain added oils?

Because good-quality sesame doesn't need them. It contains enough natural oil for a creamy, stable texture. Most brands add vegetable oil to cut cost and extend shelf life, not for technical reasons.

What's the difference between Roasted, White and Black tahini?

Roasted uses slowly roasted sesame: intense, deep, ideal for sauces. White is raw sesame: delicate, silky, perfect for hummus and baking. Black uses unhulled black sesame: earthy, mineral, richer nutrition.

What is tahini used for?

It's the base of hummus and baba ganoush. Also dressings for salads and roasted vegetables, toast with honey and salt, sauce for falafel, Mediterranean baking with dates, and any dish needing a creamy dairy-free touch.

Is Sésara tahini vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free?

Yes. Sésara is vegan, vegetarian and naturally gluten-free. Single ingredient: organic sesame. Contains sesame as declared allergen; may contain traces of tree nuts from shared processing lines.

How is it stored?

Unopened, in a cool dry place, until the expiry date (12 months from production). Once open, refrigerate. It's normal for the sesame's natural oil to separate — just stir before use.

How much does shipping cost across Europe?

Shipping is calculated at checkout by country (typically €10–18). The 3-pack ships across the EU. For Spain with local rates, check sesara.es.
